dolitl is software that lives on a server
Server software is simple to install and easy to maintain as it's all in one place.
It can be accessed by computers connected directly to that server; these are called "local" users. If the server is connected to the Internet, dolitl can also be accessed by offsite "remote" users - as long as they have a connection to the Internet.
Apart from using dolitl over the Internet, "remote" users can have a "local" installation, which is effectively a copy of the data from the main system, and so can continue working without any network connections. When the local or Internet connection is again available, dolitl will synchronise data and files with the main server automatically.
Because dolitl is "server" software and not necessarily directly connected to scanners, printers and other external devices, it uses a small, automatically downloaded, tool to print or read from equipment that is "locally" installed on a computer. This makes dolitl highly compatible with peripheral devices and means that there is no need for any server configuration to use these devices.
