Why is the price of milk of concern to a software company? For the dairy farm vet, it is important to know one of the most influential factors in their clients business as it drives decisions over to cull, treat, and ultimately use of preventative medicines and consultancy. The higher the price, the less effort has to be spent on keeping costs minimal, and more on planning a healthier herd for the future that will prepare them for leaner times. For people who drink milk, they should know the kind of deal the farmer gets, and additionally which shops offer contracts that pay more facilitating better herd health planning, so that they can then make an informed vote with their next purchase.

Being milk drinkers and requiring vets to pay for our software, we have an ethical and business reason for knowing the price of milk.

The DairyCo website has a fantastic amount of detail to do with how much companies pay for their milk. It's certainly with looking at, but no surprise as to which supermarkets are at the top end.
